How do I save a Snapchat video?
Save your own snap with the download icon before you send it; it goes to Memories. Public Spotlight videos and stories can be saved from their link. A video a friend sends you can only be saved in the chat if it was set to loop. Read more: How to save Snapchat videos.
How do I save a Snapchat story?
Open My Account, press and hold My Story and tap Save Story. To keep every story, turn on Auto-Save My Story Snaps in Settings, My App, Memories. Public stories from creators can be saved by @username. Read more: How to save a Snapchat story.
Where do saved Snapchat photos go?
To Memories, inside Snapchat. They also go to your phone's gallery if the Save Button is set to Memories & Camera Roll or Camera Roll. Read more: How to save Snapchat photos.
Can I see old Snapchat stories?
Your own, if they were saved to Memories. Someone else's, only if they're in a highlight or still on their public profile; in TapDownload's checks on 29 October 2026, public stories held snaps up to about seven days old. Read more: How to view old Snapchat stories.
Does Snapchat notify when you screenshot a story?
On friends-only stories, yes: Snapchat says the owner's viewer list shows whether a screenshot was taken. Screenshots of snaps and chats sent to you notify the sender. Read more: Story views and screenshots.
Is Snapchat deleting Memories?
No. Snapchat says it will not automatically delete Memories because you don't upgrade. From January 2027, older Memories over the free 5GB will be archived, and you can download everything for free first. Read more: How to download all your Snapchat Memories.
What is Snapchat Spotlight?
Snapchat's public feed of short videos, ranked for each viewer. Snapchatters 16 or older can post videos of 5 seconds or more, and Snapchat says Spotlight posts are public. Read more: What is Snapchat Spotlight.
