Three steps. No app, no account.
In Snapchat tap Share, then Copy link. For a public profile, the @username is enough.
Paste it in the box above and press Download. TapDownload shows what kind of link it is as you type.
Tap any snap to watch it first. Save one in the format you want, or pick as many as you like and save them as a ZIP.
And nothing it shouldn't: no ads, no pop-ups, no login.
Every public photo and video, in tabs, with a filter for just videos or just photos.
All the videos, all the photos, the whole story, or any mix. Check the list, then save it as a ZIP.
Watch any snap full-screen before you save it.
Nothing covers the box, and no button pretends to be the download.
Pick from the versions Snapchat really keeps, each with its true size. Not a screen recording, and no fake "HD".
Files go straight to your device. No account, no history.
Type a public @username to watch its story, highlights and Spotlight. Nothing to sign in to.

TapDownload is a free Snapchat downloader that works in your browser. Paste a link to a public story, Spotlight video or highlight, or type an @username, and tap Download. Videos save as MP4 with sound, photos as JPG. You don't need the app or a Snapchat account.
TapDownload is a free website that saves public Snapchat Spotlight videos, stories and highlights from their link. It is not affiliated with Snap Inc. Page checked and updated 31 October 2026.
Some people call the app Snap, so you may know this as a Snap downloader. It's one box for any public snapchat.com link: copy the link with Snapchat's Share button, paste it, and the download starts looking straight away. It runs in your browser on iPhone, Android or a computer, with nothing to install. It works as a Snapchat video downloader (MP4 with sound) and a photo downloader (JPG, full size for highlights).
| Public link | What you get (TapDownload tests, 29 and 30 October 2026) |
|---|---|
| Spotlight video | MP4 with sound, 540 x 960 with Snapchat's logo, or 480 x 852 without it, plus the cover as JPG |
| Public story | Every snap: videos as 480 x 852 MP4, photos as JPG |
| Highlight | Photos at full size (1242 x 2208 or 1320 x 2346), videos as MP4 with 128 kbps sound |
| @username | The whole public profile: story, highlights and Spotlight videos in tabs |
It can't save Lives, private or friends-only stories, chats, or Memories, because none of those are on the public web. To watch rather than save, use the Snapchat story viewer. To get your own Memories out, follow how to download all your Snapchat Memories.

Yes. TapDownload is free to use, with no account, no app and no ads.
Public Spotlight videos, public stories while Snapchat shows them, and highlights on public profiles. Videos save as MP4 and photos as JPG. Paste a link, or type a public @username to see everything that profile shows in public.
No. Snapchat Lives stream inside the Snapchat app and have no public web link, so TapDownload, like any website, can't open or save them.
No. TapDownload only reads what snapchat.com shows to anyone who isn't logged in. It never asks for your Snapchat login, so private stories, snaps sent to you and chats stay private.
Yes, as many as the profile shows. Press Download several, then tap the snaps you want, or pick a whole group (all the videos, all the photos, the story, the highlights or Spotlight) and mix them as you like. Press Review to check the list, then download it as a ZIP. One ZIP holds up to 25 files, so bigger picks come in parts. On an iPhone, tap the ZIP in the Files app to unzip it.
TapDownload opens the public web page, the same one anyone can see without an account, and doesn't sign in as you. We can't see or control what Snapchat shows to the person who posted, so if it matters, ask them first.
The same files snapchat.com plays. In our tests that meant 540 x 960 MP4s for Spotlight and 480 x 852 MP4s for story videos, plus full-size JPG photos. It's the real file, not a screen recording, but it isn't the creator's original upload either. To choose, tap the sliders button next to Save: it lists every version Snapchat keeps of that snap with its real size. Spotlight videos usually have two; story videos and photos usually have one.
Yes. Tap the sliders button next to Save. A video can be saved as MP4, as audio only (AAC: the original sound, copied without re-encoding) or as a GIF of its first 10 seconds. A photo can be saved as JPG, PNG or WEBP (where your browser can make WEBP), at full size or 1080 or 720 pixels wide. The conversion happens in your browser, and nothing is uploaded.
To your Downloads. On an iPhone that's the Files app, in the Downloads folder: open the file and tap Share, then Save Video or Save Image to put it in Photos. On Android it lands in the Downloads folder and shows up in Gallery.
Usually the account is private, the story has been taken down, or the post was deleted. TapDownload tells you which one it is. Most stories disappear 24 hours after posting, and private accounts never have public links.
Saving your own snaps is fine. Other people's snaps belong to them, and reposting or reusing them without permission can break copyright law and Snapchat's Terms of Service. Save your own snaps, or ask first. This isn't legal advice.
No. Files pass from Snapchat's servers through ours to your device and are never stored. To stop abuse we keep a scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address for up to an hour, and remember each Snapchat page for five minutes so it isn't fetched twice.
Paste it and save the file in seconds.
